With millions of songs available on Spotify, there was never a better time to join this music streaming service. Best of all, knowing how much Spotify Premium costs is very simple: with $ 10 a month you will have the possibility to listen to your favorite albums without advertising, without connection and an extensive catalog of playlists, among other benefits.
But before making the decision, we suggest you review the different price levels. If you are a student or want to share your account with friends or family, such as Spotify Premium Duo incorporated in June 2020, if you do a little research you could save a few dollars a month. You could even end up reaching the free Premium rate. Who knows?
With a free Spotify account you can listen to (almost) everything you want, as long as you’re willing to put up with ads. However, you can’t choose the tracks you want to listen to when and how you want; you will have to select an artist, album or genre. At this free rate, you’ll also miss curated playlists and offline listening, as well as radio.
Those who want to spend a little ($ 10 a month, in the worst case) can access a number of top-notch features, accessing a catalog of over 50 million ad-free songs, which can be heard from the way you want, no need for random eavesdropping. You can also save tracks to listen offline, access Spotify Radio and watch music videos.
Spotify Premium Duo
This plan is designed for two people who live in the same address. For $ 13 a month, each of them will get an individual account without ads, with which they can access the platform’s catalog and their own playlists. In addition, both will have access to the Duo Mix playlist, which will allow them to discover new content according to their liking. Users who have not tried Premium will be able to get the first month of Premium Duo for free.
Spotify for students
If you are a student (and have an email address from an official educational institution), you can access the Premium rate for only $ 5 per month. This rate also includes a free subscription to Hulu. Just be sure to renew your registration after one year or Spotify will remove your Hulu membership and start charging you the Premium price.
Spotify Family Plan
Those families who want to enjoy a Premium account together in more advantageous conditions, can opt for Spotify Family Premium, which costs $ 15 dollars a month and allows up to six people in a single account. All members of the family plan must have the same physical residence address, but there is no stipulation as to how long they have to live together.
Spotify with AT&T
Customers of an AT&T Unlimited & More plan can subscribe to Premium for free, a subscription that will remain in effect until the end of their contract. There’s also a free six-month trial available for select customers who aren’t on an unlimited plan, so check your myAT & T account to see if you’re one of the lucky ones.
Spotify with Chase
Do you have a Chase credit card? You may be entitled to a free six-month subscription to Spotify Premium if this is your first time testing the service, or otherwise a 5 percent credit for the next six months. Just keep in mind that the offer is limited to certain cards, so the option is not available to everyone.
Spotify through a partner company
There are a number of companies that offer Spotify Premium for free to their employees, such as Starbucks, which has more than 200,000 employees in the same subscription. Certain phone and internet operators also offer a free or discounted membership, so it’s worth checking the fine print to see if you have access to one or the other.
Spotify vs. the competition
If you hesitate between Spotify and its rivals, you will most likely debate between Apple Music or Google Play Music. They all cost the same and offer similar features, but Spotify stands out from the rest with the best interface, an almost infinite catalog of on-demand content, great playlists, and a free plan for those who can’t commit.
